Llevando el Mensaje en Línea

En diciembre, nuestro sitio web continuó sirviendo como recurso para quienes buscan ayuda con el alcoholismo en Puerto Rico. El sitio recibió 332 clics desde búsquedas en Google y apareció en los resultados de búsqueda casi 4,740 veces. Esto significa que miles de personas buscando información sobre recuperación en nuestra área vieron pr-area77.org como una opción.

Durante los últimos 30 días, el sitio tuvo 1,062 visitas de 874 visitantes únicos. Aproximadamente la mitad llegó directamente al sitio, mientras que el 38% nos encontró a través de motores de búsqueda—personas buscando activamente términos como "alcohólicos anónimos puerto rico," "aa puerto rico," y "area 77."

También recibimos tráfico de referencia de otros sitios de AA, incluyendo aasanjuan.org, puertoricosobrietynetwork.org y aa.org, un recordatorio de que somos parte de una confraternidad más amplia llevando el mensaje juntos.

El Sitio Web como Recurso Centralizado

En el espíritu de unidad y armonía, los invito a ver pr-area77.org como una base de datos centralizada para el Área 77. Cuando la información pertinente está en un solo lugar, nos mantenemos organizados y alineados. Los grupos, distritos y comités pueden confiar en el sitio como una fuente única de información confiable.

Una sugerencia: publicar todos los eventos aprobados por el área en el sitio web tan pronto estén disponibles. Esto mantiene a todos informados y evita confusión sobre lo que ha sido autorizado por el área. No tengo claro cómo están las cosas con el Comité Web que se formó durante el término anterior: si alguien me puede ayudar a entender mejor, se lo agradecería.

Manteniendo la Guía de Reuniones al Día

Un agradecimiento especial a Pablito por trabajar directamente con los grupos para mantener nuestra guía de reuniones actualizada. Este esfuerzo directo asegura que cuando alguien busca una reunión, encuentre información precisa.

Continuaremos ofreciendo clínicas presenciales durante las reuniones de área para actualizar los listados en tiempo real. Si la información de tu grupo necesita atención, por favor aprovecha estas oportunidades. Nuestro propósito primordial es ayudar al alcohólico que aún sufre, así que si necesitamos tomar tiempo para actualizar una reunión durante la reunión de área, siento que es tiempo bien invertido.

Posible Ahorro en Servicios de Correo Electrónico

El área actualmente paga $504 al año por Google Workspace, cubriendo 6 cuentas de correo en @pr-area77.org. Como organización sin fines de lucro, el Área 77 podría cualificar para Google for Nonprofits, que provee los mismos servicios sin costo.

Si somos aprobados, esto eliminaría el gasto anual de $504 por completo—fondos que podrían redirigirse hacia llevar el mensaje de otras maneras. El plan gratuito para organizaciones sin fines de lucro incluye correo electrónico personalizado, 30 GB de almacenamiento por usuario, Google Drive, Calendar, Meet y otras herramientas de colaboración para hasta 2,000 usuarios.

Actualmente estamos investigando el proceso de solicitud en google.com/nonprofits, ojalá podamos someter nuestros documentos antes de la próxima fecha de pago en noviembre.

Para mantener el sitio web preciso y útil para el alcohólico que aún sufre y para nuestra confraternidad, por favor sometan actualizaciones sobre horarios de reuniones, ubicaciones, contactos de distrito y eventos próximos a través de los canales establecidos. También pueden comunicarse conmigo directamente (pondré mi número en el chat) o con Pablito (incluiremos su número también).

La información centralizada y oportuna nos ayuda a servir con una sola voz.

Carrying the Message Online

In December, our website continued to serve as a resource for those seeking help with alcoholism in Puerto Rico. The site received 332 clicks from Google searches and appeared in search results nearly 4,740 times. This means thousands of people looking for information about recovery in our area saw pr-area77.org as an option.

Over the past 30 days, the site had 1,062 visits from 874 unique visitors. About half came directly to the site, while 38% found us through search engines—people actively looking for terms like "alcoholicos anonimos puerto rico," "aa puerto rico," and "area 77."

We also received referral traffic from fellow AA sites including aasanjuan.org, puertoricosobrietynetwork.org, and aa.org, a reminder that we are part of a larger fellowship carrying the message together.

The Website as a Centralized Resource

In the spirit of unity and harmony, I encourage us to view pr-area77.org as a centralized database for Area 77. When pertinent information lives in one place, we stay organized and aligned. Groups, districts, and committees can rely on the site as a single source of truth.

One suggestion: list all area-approved events on the website as they become available. This keeps everyone informed and avoids confusion about what has been sanctioned by the area. I’m unclear where things stand with the Web Committee that was formed during the last term: if someone could help me better understand I would be grateful.

Keeping the Meeting Guide Current

A special thank you to Pablito for working directly with groups to keep our meeting guide updated. This hands-on effort ensures that when someone searches for a meeting, they find accurate information.

We will continue to offer in-person clinics during area meetings to update listings in real time. If your group's information needs attention, please take advantage of these opportunities. Our primary purpose is to help the still sick and suffering alcoholic, so if we need to make time to update a meeting during the area meeting, I feel that is time well spent.

Potential Savings on Email Services

The area currently pays $504 per year for Google Workspace, covering 6 email accounts at @pr-area77.org. As a nonprofit organization, Area 77 may qualify for Google for Nonprofits, which provides the same services at no cost.

If approved, this would eliminate the $504 annual expense entirely—funds that could be redirected toward carrying the message in other ways. The free nonprofit plan includes custom email, 30 GB of storage per user, Google Drive, Calendar, Meet, and other collaboration tools for up to 2,000 users.

We are currently investigating the application process at google.com/nonprofits, hopefully we can submit our paperwork before the next payment due date in November.
