Web Coordinator Report - May 2025

Why Accurate Meeting Information Matters

I remember when I tried to attend my first meeting; it was difficult to find. When I finally located it, no one was there. The door was locked. I almost used this as an excuse to keep drinking.

Just last month, four sober people who serve our area had difficulty finding a meeting. Imagine how much harder it would be for someone still foggy and confused from alcoholism.

Helping people find meetings is vital to our program.

Every accurate address and Google Plus Code you provide could be the difference between someone finding recovery or turning away. Please take a moment to verify your meeting's information.

Simple Guide: Adding a Meeting to Area 77 Database

Quick Steps to Add Your Meeting:

  1. Submit all meeting updates at: https://pr-area77.org/anadir-grupo

  2. For location accuracy, use one of these:

    • Google Maps validated address (preferred)

    • Google Plus Code (acceptable alternative)

  3. How to get a Google Plus Code:

    • On Mobile: Open Google Maps, long-press location, swipe up for details, copy Plus Code

    • On Computer: Open Google Maps, right-click location, select "What's here?", copy Plus Code

  4. Format examples:

    • Complete: "9Q9M+336, Pájaros, Toa Alta 00953, Puerto Rico"

    • Simplified: "FW28+Q3 San Juan"

  5. Important: Include a contact email or phone number (for internal use only)

The database powers both our website meeting list at pr-area77.org/las-reuniones and the Meeting Guide app. Accurate information helps newcomers find your meeting.
